Description

Working in teams, our Engineer Surveyors are home based and strategically located throughout the UK. They assess a wide range of installations, anticipate problems and ensure our clients comply with relevant legislation.

They then produce reports of examination using Windows based software for fast and efficient delivery to our clients.

Main Duties

- To carry out in-service inspections of plant equipment in accordance with company Technical Standards and Health & Safety.

- To prepare reports of examination in accordance with the Company¿s reporting procedures.

- Travel effectively within the local area

- Planning for meetings and visits and work allocation.

- Process documentation & undertake general administration & planning.

- Deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyor of own discipline when required.

- Ensure up to date knowledge and understanding of all relevant Compliance and Regulatory rules and procedures

Technical Skills

- Our Engineer Surveyors must have hands on experience and relevant qualifications in one or more of the following disciplines:-

Lift & Crane - Lifting machinery and mechanical handling plant (cranes, fork truck, lifts, escalators etc)

- Strong customer communication skills are essential, and the confidence to make professional judgements

- An aptitude and understanding of the need for planning and an ability to prioritise own workload

Please note: The Engineer Surveyor role requires lifting, climbing and working in confined spaces.

Experience

Engineer Surveyors require a unique skill set, a combination of hands-on experience, technical ability, an acute awareness of workplace hazards and safety requirements, strong customer communication skills, and the confidence to make professional judgements.

Qualifications

HND/HNC/Full Technological Certificate in a relevant engineering discipline is required. (Board of Trade Chief Engineer 1st Class Certificate of Competence for pressure/mechanical discipline).

Ideally Engineer Surveyors are Incorporated Engineers within a relevant engineering institution and have a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training.
